Aspire Gusto Mini Vape Kit + Element’s NS20 Salt Nicotine eLiquid Pods

aspire-gusto-mini-element-ns20-eliquid

The combined effort of one of the most popular eLiquid manufacturers with one of the best vaping hardware manufacturers on the planet, the Aspire Gusto Mini kit is the result of the teaming up of Aspire and Element’s NS20 eLiquid range.

The Gusto Kit is a compact closed system that employs the use of pre-filled pods. So no filling or refilling, no fiddling with coils, no real need to know anything at all other than 5 clicks to turn it on and 5 clicks to turn it off.

aspire-gusto-mini-element-ns20-eliquid-3

The kit itself is, as the name suggests, is mini and compact in size, fitting easily in the palm of the hand. For the same reason, the Gusto Mini is also extremely pocketable and travel friendly, and weighing in at just over 60 grams, it’s very lightweight.

With a 900 mAh battery capacity the Gusto Mini should get the average vaper through the course of a day without needing to recharge, which is done via a supplied micro USB charging cable. The airflow options are fixed, which may put off some vapers, but due to a clever design, it’s possible to use the Gusto Mini as both a mouth to lung or direct to lung device.

The Aspire Gusto Mini is only compatible with Element’s NS20 eLiquid pods, with each pod filled with Element’s Nicotine Salt based eLiquid that come only in 20mg nicotine strength.

Element’s NS20 pods work slightly differently to the average eLiquid in that the nicotine ‘hits’ the user sooner, and more efficiently, and more like a traditional cigarette. Not only this but NS20 pods are very smooth on the throat. For those that are familiar with vaping already, the throat hit on NS20’s 20mg is akin to that of the average 3mg eLiquid.

element-ns20-eliquid-range2

All that being said, let’s get down to the flavours, where Element’s NS20 pods do well again. Only the flavour of the eLiquid comes through with NS20 which makes for a much more enjoyable vape, as you cannot taste the nicotine the same way you can when vaping on a traditional 18mg for example.

Due to the efficiency in delivering nicotine users will notice that they will need to vape less often and less in general before feeling satisfied, and due to this, we ask vapers, new and old alike, to please take their time when first using NS20 pods to be sure to not overdo it. Take it slow to begin with until you are more familiar with it and know how it works.

Joyetech ATOPACK Penguin Kit: Vape Overview

joyetech-penguin-vape-kit

Always at the forefront of innovation and looking at things a little differently, Joyetech have been a solid performer on the vaping market for the last few years, producing some well-reviewed pieces of kit, such as the EVIC series and AIO range.

One of their latest devices, the ATOPACK Penguin Kit, is a compact and smoothly-designed all-in-one kit that’s very easy to operate and use. It features a one button operation that’s ideal for newer vapers who just want to something to get them going, and a very ergonomic design that’s easy to grip and hold comfortably.

The Penguin mod features a built-in battery with a 2000mAh capacity; easily enough to give keep the average user vaping through a full day.

The battery is charged using USB lead, with the charging port located on the front of the device, below the firing button, and with a 2A Fast Charging port, recharging the battery doesn’t take very long at all. A simple LED system illustrates how much charge remains in the battery.

joyetech-penguin-atopack-kit-range2

The Penguin vape tank holds a whopping 8.8ml, but due to the TPD / TRPR regulations this has obviously had to be reduced down to 2ml to comply.

The tank uses a specially designed JVIC coil, placed horizontally into the tank system. The Penguin coils are partly constructed from Ceramic, allowing for a more even spread of heat distribution and a fuller vaping experience. Using a ceramic coil is slightly different than vaping with a standard one, as ‘chain vaping’ a device that uses a ceramic coil can cause dry hits for the user, due to the slightly slower ramp up time for ceramics.

The kit comes supplied with a pair of sub-ohm coils (a 0.25Ω and a 0.6Ω), which are intended to be used at higher wattages, and with thicker, High VG eLiquids.

Due to these low resistance coils, users may find themselves having to refill sooner than they may like, as a 2ml capacity tank will drain down rather quickly with prolonged use.

joyetech-penguin-atopack-kit-range

The Penguin Kit is very easy to use, but it’s lack of variable controls may put some users off, as the output is essentially dictated by which coil is used. It has a great design, fitting very comfortably in hand.

Using the device will require a little bit more patience than using a normal device, as its ceramic coils do take a fraction longer to heat up than standard coils. Those that like to chain vape big gulps will need to be mindful using the device, as heavy-handed users may experience a dry hit or two.

Innokin MVP4 Mod: Vape Overview

innokin-mvp4-blog-header

Retaining many of the features of its predecessors, Innokin’s MVP4 looks to keep everything that was liked about the originals, while improving on the design and functionality.

Innokin have come a long way from the earlier MVP models that only featured around 15W of output. Now in its fourth iteration, the MVP4 still retains that box-like shape and a huge battery capacity that will be familiar to users of the previous models.

innokin-mvp4-blogWhile the MVP3 had just 30W of output, with its PRO version ramping this output up to 60W, the MVP4 manages to crank out 100W of vaping power, and also features a rather large 4500mAh integrated battery; similar to the Pro version.

This huge battery offers a generous amount of vaping time, and would last the average vaper easily over a day. It also allows other devices to be charged via the port at the bottom, meaning it can function as a power bank if need be.

The Innokin MVP4 is powered by their innovative Aethon microchip, which has advanced yet very easy-to-use Temperature Control (TC) capabilities that include Stainless Steel SS316L, Ni200, and Titanium, along with standard Kanthal. The MVP4 also has the ability to detect and avoid dry hits and features over-charge safety precautions.

High-quality Stainless Steel threading and a gold-plated connection pin allows for the current to flow smoothly, and its 510 thread means its compatible with the vast majority of tanks on the current market.

A large OLED screen situated on the side of the device displays all necessary user information, such as wattage, temperature, and charge levels, while the robust and sturdy design means the MVP4 can take the knocks and scrapes that daily life throws at it.

Innokin have included a 2A quick-charge with the MVP4, meaning that the battery will charge at a much faster rate than previous models. As well, the device features pass-through capabilities, so it can be used while it’s charging.

Aspire Nautilus 2 Tank: Vape Preview

aspire-nautilus-2-vape-tank

Aspire’s Nautilus tanks are well known among vaping circles, as they were one of the early devices to be adopted by a wide number of people.

Feedback on the tank has always been positive, both the full-size Nautilus and the Mini.

Aspire released the Nautilus X tank last year, but it was met with some disappointment from the vaping community who felt that it wasn’t an improvement on the original design. nautilus-2-tank-fill

Now Aspire have the Nautilus 2, launching it as if it’s the sequel to The Avengers; “The Legend Never Ends”.

The Nautilus 2 design is similar to that of its earlier predecessors, rather than the X, as it features a bell-shaped design.

It’s also completely enclosed in Steel, with a small circular window to allow the user to observe eLiquid levels in the tank.

Similar to the Nautilus X, the Nautilus 2 features a Top-Fill design, and with a 2ml capacity its fully TRPR compliant.

It maintains the compact design of the previous models, but takes the more curved look of the original Nautilus and Mini tanks, rather than the squat square shape of the X.

Aspire have redesigned the airflow system for the Nautilus 2, neither featuring a Top Airflow like the X, or the single hole design of the original models.

This new Nautilus instead features a bottom-airflow with five settings, ranging from open to tight.

It’s a much more accurate airflow, which allows the user to really dial in an precise airflow setting.

The Nautilus 2 itself comes with a 0.7Ω coil, allowing the device to be a Sub Ohm tank for the first time. Other coils are also available, including a standard Mouth-to-Lung 1.8Ω.

Vaporesso Drizzle Kit: Vape Overview

vaporesso-drizzle-kit

Already well known for their innovatively designed devices and kits, Vaporesso have managed to compact a 1000mAh battery into a vaping device that’s just over 10cm in height; just bigger than a cigarette lighter! Vaporesso have produced some interesting looking devices in their time; the Attitude Kit, the Target Pro with its trigger-pull design; the Tarot Pro with its intricately patterned side-panels. Even the tiny Target Mini!

drizzle-kit-up-1

The Drizzle Kit is Vaporesso’s foray into a compact pen-sized device, featuring a 1.8ml TRPR compliant tank with a 1000mAh battery. As we mentioned, the device is exceptionally small, but for its size, it does manage to pack in a lot of dense features.

Most 1000mAh battery mods are a lot bigger, but Vaporesso have managed to squeeze this battery capacity into a mod of nearly half the standard size!

The Drizzle Kit is a positively compact piece of vaping hardware. The 1.8ml TRPR compliant tank features a top filling mechanism, which allows the tank to be refilled with relative ease and without mess.

Its Top Airflow allows the user to dial in a suitable setting, ranging from a closed and tight vape to a wide-open air slot.

The tank is also leak-resistant, as it forms a ‘cup’ shape, with no way eLiquid can escape at the bottom of the tank.

It has no adjustable settings, meaning it will always fire at full power until the battery drains down.drizzle-kit-side

Primarily designed for Mouth-to-Lung vaping, The Drizzle Kit comes supplied with two coils; a 1.3Ω Ceramic EUC coil, and a 1.4Ω standard coil. While these are Vaporesso’s EUC coils, they differ slightly to the full size ones; being smaller. Instead these are referred to as ‘EUC Drizzle’ coils, and will only work with the Drizzle Kit.

BO eCig: Liquid Capsule Vaping Kit

bo-vaping-ecig-capsule

With the upcoming government legislation set to over-regulate and quash certain aspects of vaping culture, innovative designers and inventors from far and wide around the globe have been busy working their brains in an attempt to try and figure out a way around the problem.

bo-ecig-charger

There’s big tobacco’s “heat, not burn” process, which, unlike vaping we’ve been used to in the past few years, uses actual real tobacco leaf to acquire nicotine from. The tobacco is heated to the point of vaporization, but not combustion, as fire is what produces so many of the nasty chemicals that infect our bodies from smoking tobacco.

Alternatively, a few different companies have been experimenting with a “vape pod” or “liquid pod” based system, where a small disposable capsule filled with eLiquid and a heating element is used instead of a refillable tank; very similar to the early “cigalikes” that vapers were using a few years ago.

While we’ve looked at a few pod-based systems already, including the My Von Erl Starter Kit, there are more and more of these liquid pod devices being produced; one of which being the BO eCig Starter Kit, which is manufactured in France.

While its name may conjure up thoughts of fragrant armpits, the BO kit instead offers a colour-coded pod system that utilizes a thin rechargeable battery charged via a magnetic USB port. The USB is suitable for use with laptop or an easily accessible USB slot, although users of tower computers may find it more difficult.

Alternatively BO have a charging cable as an alternative means of charging, as well as their BO Power unit; a personalisable charging station with a 1500mAh internal battery, and this allows the BO eCig to be charged four times before the power bank itself will need a recharge, as well via USB cable.

bo-ecig-liquid-cap

The BO eLiquid pods, or ‘caps’ as BO refer to them as, are 1.5ml in capacity, and contain both the coil and heating element in the cap. These caps have a one-use design and are intended to be disposed of when the eLiquid in the cap has run out.

The BO eLiquid range features a wide-range of different flavours to try; twelve in total. BO’s flavours are divided into four categories; Tobacco, Fruit, Mint, and ‘Gourmand’, with flavour blends such as Complex Tobacco, Peach Smoothie, Lemon Cream, and Polar mint, to name a few.

Although its just been released, BO do have further plans that unfortunately we’re not permitted to disclose at the moment, but be assured that the BO eLiquid range will likely be extended to include many, many more flavour blends.

All in all, the BO starter kit, like the other disposable pod eCig devices, is suitable for a brand new vaper due to its incredible ease of use when compared to more complicated devices. The BO kit can be easily assembled and used within a matter of seconds, with its button-less operation ensuring its easy for new vapers to get to grips with.

My Von Erl Starter Kit: Vape Overview

my-von-erl
my-von-erl-starter-kit2

The My Kit from Von Erl represents the next evolution in vape devices, and is among a variety of new styled “Liquid Pod” eCigarettes; taking disposable capsules rather than using a refillable tank.

While we’ve been used to using refillable chambers and pipettes over the last couple of years, Von Erl have looked to the earlier style of ecigarettes for inspiration; the “cigalike”.

The My Kit takes the size and form of the early cigalikes, but while these were often cigarette coloured and cylindrical (aesthetically designed to look like a tobacco cigarette), the MY from Von Erl looks more akin to a USB stick than a cigalike, with a definitively black finish and an oblong shape. Similar to the cigalike, the My is extremely pocket-friendly, and weighs very little.

While the early Cigalikes were completely disposable, requiring the user to chuck away every component after expiration, these new ‘pod’ style devices only feature a disposable “top part”, similar to a basic CE4 Clearmiser. Once a pod (which contains both the heating element and eLiquid) is finished, a brand new one can be easily inserted into the battery portion, giving it a fresh coil with a refill of eJuice.

my-von-erl-starter-kit3While currently Von Erl have manufactured their own basic flavours, including straight Tobacco (Tabak) and Menthol (Tabak Menthol), as well as fruity and other flavours like Cherry, Pina Colada, and Café Latte, there are already plans to produce Liquid pods featuring some of vape culture’s biggest brands, such as the award winning Frisco Vaper, Cuttwood, Taffy Man, and Halcyon Vapors!

Utilising this disposable pod method of refilling, the My kit is mess free and almost completely leak proof, as it’s inherent ‘plug in and play’ feature means refilling the device takes literally seconds. Von Erl have also made the My Kit incredibly easy to use, requiring the user to just inhale on the mouth-piece in order to vape; it’s completely button free.

One of the only downsides to the My kit is its relatively small battery size. The vast majority of vapers would be used to batteries that hold at least a 1000mAh of power, but the dinky My has just a 350mAh battery to utlise. While this is to be expected, due to the smaller nature of the My anyway, some vapers looking to get extensive battery power from the device may be left feeling short.

However, it should be noted that the Von Erl My isn’t designed to use high volumes of power in one go, it’s designed to be small and compact, and easy to use for beginners. It would then seem that the smaller battery size is just a small price to pay for compactness and ease of use.

Eleaf iCare Mini Starter Kit: Vape Overview

eleaf-icare-mini-kit-uk

Perhaps the most pocket friendly starter kit to hit the market to date, the Eleaf iCare Mini is a perfect starter kit for those new to vaping or even for experienced vapers looking for a convenient and stealthy backup device.

Featuring a 1.3ml built in tank along with a 350mAh battery, the iCare is designed to be closer to a cigarette than larger more popular-styled devices, and manages a remarkably solid battery life as a result.

While this might not sound like a great deal of capacity (probably lasting the average vaper half a day), the iCare can be charged via USB cable, and charges in under an hour. It also comes complete with passthrough capabilities allowing users to vape while it charges.

In the box there’s a USB charging cable, two replacement 1.1 Ohm coils, a warranty card and instruction manual, and the iCare Mini device itself. It’s worth noting that the iCare doesn’t come with a preinstalled coil, so users will have to use one of the two included coils before filling it up for the first time.

eleaf-icare-mini-colours-uk

The iCare couldn’t be easier to use, as there’s no buttons or switches to contend with. You simply inhale, and the device activates, and when you stop, so does the iCare; it’s been designed with ease of use above everything else. While being predominantly a mouth to lung device, the iCare has a fairly airy draw, and when fully open is closer to what you might find on a tank like a Triton Mini.

The first and most obvious pros are the size and ease of use of the device – this is a serious stealth vape, and also manages to be one of the simplest devices on the market outside of a cigalike or basic eGo kit; simply fill it up, vape, and go!

The convenience offered by the iCare mini is almost unparalleled, as it’s short stature makes it perfect for travelling around with, when compared to the bulk of a box mod that’ll likely weigh your trousers down or make your jacket hang in a curiously lop-sided manner.

The iCare Mini is small enough to carry two or three around with you in the back pocket of a pair of jeans without noticing. This is almost a drawback in and of itself, as the iCare is so small and so light it can be incredibly easy to lose in a pocket!

Even though it’s very easy to use once it’s setup, the iCare can be a little fiddly when it comes to changing a coil or filling the device, but this does come with territory of having a diminutive device.

Also the iCare Mini’s battery life could potentially be an irritation to some, but its fast USB charging quickly offsets this. Even if it’s completely run out of battery, when plugged into a powered USB socket the mod will be up and running again in no time. This will be further helped by the soon to be released PCC charging cradle, which will extend the battery capacity to well over 2000mAh.

The build quality on the device is remarkably good, feeling impressively well made and solid for it’s low weight and low price, and it punches well above its weight and price class; the iCare Mini is indeed a well thought out piece of kit, and a solid device.

Vaporesso Nalu RDA: Vape Tank Overview

vaporesso-nalu-rda-tank-uk

From the creative minds behind the excellent Target Pro Kit, as well as the Guardian and Gemini tanks, the Vaporesso Nalu RDA is the company’s first attempt on an RDA, and a phenomenal result they’ve had with this device. Rather unique with its window and dual-holed posts, the Nalu seems to crafted like no other RDA on the current market.

vaporesso-nalu-rda-deck-uk

Measuring 24mm in diameter, the Nalu is compatible with most mods on the current market. It features a double holed velocity-style deck, a design that seems to be becoming increasingly popular among vape manufacturers. Vaporesso’s Nalu RDA comes with two extra drip tips (blue and pink) in the box, as well as a squonky pin for use with squonk mods, along with two coils and a few other goodies. The Nalu itself has a rather distinctive, almost futuristic look with its glass windows on both sides of the tank.

With its appearance quite similar to a mini version of the Geekvape Tsunami 24 RDA Glass (as both devices have glass windows and optional sqounking pins), the Vaporesso Nalu instead has its window constructed of pyrex glass, ensuring no cracking or clouding will happen with use.

The Nalu RDA features an adjustable airflow and can also be used with a single coil, producing great vapour production due to the airflow port being at the bottom of the device.

With a deep juice well and a leak-resistance design, the Nalu gives users the option to drip and refill eLiquid without worrying about leaks, while the drip tip is wide and short making it much easier to drip onto the coils without taking the tank apart. In addition to the short drip tips, the pyrex glass window allows a keen eye to be kept on the cotton and coils, helping the user to prevent dry wicks and burnt cotton.

The build deck is constructed in the popular velocity style, featuring two posts with enlarged double postholes allowing for an easier and more convenient installation of coils. The squonk pin allows the Nalu to be used with mods that have squonking abilities, and this RDA will work perfectly on devices such as the Kangertech Dripbox 60w, as well as its larger 160w cousin.

Disappointingly Vaporesso’s Nalu doesn’t feature a 510 drip tip adapter, meaning users unfortunately wont be able to use their own drip tip. Also the drip tips included with the RDA are very short and quite close to the top cap, so users that vape at high wattages and temperatures, or using complex builds, will need to be mindful of the drip tip, as it will likely get very hot to touch.

The Vaporesso Nalu would be ideal for vapers who suffer from bad habits of letting the coil run dry and getting a dry hit, as the pyrex glass window allows the user to see how much eLiquid is left. The airflow situated under the coils also allows for a decent flow of air as well as great vapour production for those looking for clouds. It’s a great starter RDA for those looking to get into dripping, but wish to avoid a more basic kit such as Kanger’s DripBox 160W.

Aspire Cleito 120: Vape Tank Overview

aspire-cleito-120-tank-uk

The Aspire Cleito tank was an unexpected hit when it was released in early 2016, with Aspire having reinvented their core design and produced an excellent sequel tank with exceptional flavour production and general usability. Aspire have even given the Cleito 120 a new classification, deeming it the “Maxi Watt” Tank.

Allowing for a huge 120W of power to be pumped through its uniquely shaped coils, Aspire have taken the functionality of its predecessor, and given the Cleito 120 a turbocharged makeover.

aspire-cleito-120-maxi-watt-tank-uk

Quite similar to its predecessor in terms of appearance, the Cleito 120 measures in at 58mm in height, and 25mm in width. Changes that Aspire have made include a wider Delrin drip-tip, larger airflow holes, along with a taller chimney. The top-filling mechanism remains, allowing for easy refilling of eLiquid with minimal spill.

The biggest change Aspire have made though with the Cleito 120 is having its standard coils rated at a very low resistance of 0.16ohm (Ω), which requires at least 100W to use optimally. This means that a high-powered mod will be needed to fire the Cleito 120, so users will need to be prepared to use lots of battery power.

The Cleito 120 tank comes with one of the aforementioned 0.16Ω atomisers pre-installed, along with another spare coil in the box. There’s also a spare replacement glass, as well as a handy vape band, and a warranty card to ensure you’ve received a genuine product.

Although the Cleito 120 is rated at 120watts, Aspire insist that it can handle a much higher amount of power, stating it can easily cope with 160watts and more. While it’s always advisable to set and adjust the wattage in accordance with the characteristics of whichever eLiquid is being used, the Cleito 120 is designed for what Aspire refer to as “Maxi-Watt” vapers who look to use their devices at over 100watts.

The Cleito 120 is a very high-performance tank, and currently with just the one 0.16Ω coil, it’s somewhat limited in its options for anything other than a very full-on vaping experience. Big clouds, big flavours, but at the expense of battery power and eLiquid. This is a device for those looking to push their vape experience to the limits. For those vapers who still enjoy sub-ohming, but prefer a more comfortable 30 – 50 watts; Aspire recommend choosing the original Cleito instead.aspire-cleito-120-tank-parts-uk
